Title Research : zombie movie

 1.

There was about 15 titles in total. Including actors, directors, song writers, producers, and executive producers etc.

2.The connotations made me feel as I  was in myAbotu to walk with the dead and I was about to teleport to the mob of zombies . But it did not tell me anything about the movie really. It showed. A lot it kind shows a little of what to expect of the season. It gives you that itchy feeling that you just want mit’s agin

3The genre is reinforced through a lot of things that are show you the bigger picture and are symbolic. It definitely shows that this show will be a success as it always has been . They use zombie menacing  music.

4.The conventions that are being used to ensure the films appeal to the audiences bu showing that the zombie with white eyes really is scary we could i cope-ate for my . Something that is provided at a extremely high level.

what it is going to look like

We have 3 types of titles for our credits: names (includes the producer companies). the title, and dates.

Names-

Font: The font we will be using is "Chiller" we find this font good since it gives the text a sort of creepy vibe which is good to build up suspense

Size and Color: The size is going to be 55 it will be easy to read but not big enough to block anything. The color most likely will be red since it will look like blood or white so it will be easy to read since most of the scenes will be dark. The name of the companies will be a bigger size of 85 since the names of companies are usually larger.

Transitions and Location: The text transitions we will be using is "Random Bars" this makes the words appear in the scree through well random bars. The titles will be placed in the corners of the screen while the companies names will be placed at the top or middle of the screen.

Time: The titles will appear one at a time and will be shown for 3 to 5 seconds each.

Example-

Title-

  • The title of our film will be called "Fade Away"
Font: The font for the title will be "Blackadder ITC" since it gives the title credit  a creepy kind of view

Size and Color: The size will be 98 since it is the film title font will be in red to give it a more creepy feel, if not then white or black

Transition and Location: The text transition will be blinds since it makes look like it fades in and out of the screen. The location of the film title will be in the center of the screen.

Time: It will be shown for 5 to 7 seconds.

Example-

Date-

Font: The font for the dates will be in "Bodoni MT Poster Compressed" this makes the dates look the ones in calendars

Size and Color: the size will be 72 to make it easy to see but to make sure it does not cover anything. The color will be black or white.

Transition and Location: The transition is "wipe" this makes the text appear like a fade in which gives it a cool effect. The location will be in the bottom left as that's where most times and dates go.

Time: the dates will be shown for around 2 seconds so it's not too fast but not too slow.

The images carry out a kind of of suspenseful feeling to them with different shots of the characters at different times of the movie doing different types of things.

3.How is genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset?

The genre is reinforced through symbolic and technical such as a rope burning through out the whole opening sequence to symbolize that time is running out and also glimpse of the movie that reinforce the genre. Just through the opening sequence I can tell what type of genre or at least a really solid guess.

4.What conventions are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?

One way for films to appeal to target audience is to appeal to the emotions of the audience so Mission Impossible -Fallout they used action packed scenes to build up suspense for the future of the film

Title website research

The task of today was to see what my films title would be know as. Although, I have had a couple of ideas that I liked nothing seemed to really stand out so far, and have that magical feelings alot of movies and shows have. I think the title a movie is very important as that is the first thing the audience will know when someone says, “Hey do you wanna watch ____”. The title should be something that sounds exciting and mysterious, something that lures you in and makes you want to watch it, it should feel enthralling. I didn’t really have an exact idea of where I would start to come up with a name, so I decided maybe I shold research online. I found a couple of websites that would help choose for movies within the same genre as mine. One website was www.watchthetitles.com. This website was given to me by a friend, and gave me a even better idea on things I could do. Another website was www.artofthetitle.com, which I felt was a good one as other people said they also found it and liked it as you could see clips of films. What made it more convincing was that those people were intelligent and trustworthy. These great websites really make this project all the more enjoyable and exciting, because I want to present the best film possible. Every step is one closer to the end, and although I don’t have a name yet, I have some good ideas, and can’t want to finalize.

Some elements that 6 Underground incorporated were the camera angles, and the sounds. It really felt immersive, like you were apart of the group, fighting along side with them, it allows you to feel the emotion for them.

Some elements of the movie that did not appeal to me regarding the thriller genre were the fact that if I was a critic I would not like the movie, the angles are messy, the action is somewhat mindless.

genre:research blog old

  •  common costumes used: were beach shirts, sandals, sundresses, sunglasses, and shorts
  • common lighting that is used is: sunlight
  • common make-up- light/natural
  • common props-were skeletons, coral, birds,  and glass cups
  • the common setting: the beach and resort
  • common actors: Are Alex wolf, Eliza Scanlem, and Rufus well although they had familiar names nt all were
common sound: Was ambient sound and dialogue

common editing techniques were: jump cuts shot/reverse/shot

Some of the elements that Old had form the thriller genre that I really liked was the setting and the cgi that was used. It includes the setting of the beach and resort two things that I hav been blessed to enjoy. The cgi really created a cool affect when the actor bones were all spiraled and crushed which it was scary to watch. I felt that there were an amazing fit to the genre as it added lot's of great elements to it. While not all of it was good some of the costumes just did not look that accurate. The props that were used also just didn't look that real. This have it a flawed approach.

chosen genre blog:thriller

The genre we chose for our Final Task is the thriller genre. We all came together after school and had a long talk about which genre to chose. Out of the following 3 genres thriller, comedy, and love we chose thriller. One of the reasons we chose to use the thriller genre is because the type of shots are easy to film. One of the most popular shots used in a thriller is a establishing shot which is one of the easiest and most important type of shots. An establishing shot is the first shot in a scene which shows an overview of the setting. We can use a establishing shot to show when the action is happening and where it's happening. An establishing shot used in a thriller is much more important and easier to shoot compared to a comedy or a love story since in a thriller the setting is everything. Another Shot that is extremely useful and easy to shoot in a thriller is a tracking shot. A tracking shot is when the camera physically moves in any direction. Again this an extremely easy shot to use and the impact it has is huge. We can use the tracking shot to show that someone is getting followed which builds up ton of suspense making the movie even better.

Another reason we chose the thriller genre over the other is because of how easy it is to get the right costume. The costumes used in thriller movies are normal everyday cloths or old ones which is really convenient. Another reason why Thriller was chosen was because it is not hard to produce the sound. One example is diegetic sound which is when everyone is quite and the surrounding area can be heard. Another example of a sound is incidental music which is just suspenseful music which builds up tension. A huge reason why we chose thriller was because of the lighting  . The lighting for thrillers consists of dark and eerie shots but also shots in the day time. This is amazing sine we can record in the day time and if it gets dark we can control film and it won't affect the film. Over all these are the main reasons why our group chose the thriller genre.

genre comedy

There are various camera angles used in comedies, including: eye level and high angle. High angles are used to make someone seem inferior, and this can be used to perhaps make fun of the subject, or whatever is at hand. Eye level camera angles allows viewers to see the reactions of all people in the scenes. Seeing the reactions of all people, to a joke, can make the scene more laughable and thus add to the comedy factor. Camera movements in comedy movies include: tracking shots and intense zoom ins. Intense zoom in are used to create an effect where the physical camera either bumps into the actor and gets sort of a awkward close up of their face. Tracking shots, as the name suggests, used to follow the character, maybe they are escaping, or running to hide. Costumes in comedies vary depending on what the profession of the actor is and what the movie is about. For example a student may wear a uniform, a lawyer may wear a suit, a construction worker a vest, etc. There could also be basic costumes like a clown outfit. Comedies usually envelop bright lighting encouraging a happy and upbeat vibe. Props could include food, or water guns. Setting can take place anywhere as long as its bright, darkness may give off a horror effect. Just like lighting, sound and music in comedies are usually upbeat, any suspenseful beats will make it like a thriller vibe, instruments include trumpet, piano, light drums. Fast tempos create a fun mood. Eyeline matches are used to edit comedies because it gives a sense of comedy and shows what the actor is seeing, which could make it all the more funny. Jump cuts can be used to make the scene seem hectic, from scene to scene. A good comedy movie is The Hangover, or Rush Hour, my personal favorite. Things I like about comedies are that, they make you laugh, and are uplifting, and are change of pace from my usual's. Thing's I don't like are movies or shows that try to hard, or ones that don't try enough.

genre blog romance

Two-shots are very commonly used shots in romance movies. close-ups are usually used when the couples kiss or to show facial expressions .Over- the shoulder shots are very highly used in romance movies to show the conversation.Long shots are used when the actors are doing things like walking or hugging, or forming a connection, to show body language. Costumes in romance movies usually include formal attire when the couple go to dates with eachother. Lighting is very light when the when the mood is happy and when the characters are outside. But is also can be dark to set the "mood" to good on a date.Acting in these movies usually shows very touchy scenes that grow there connection.Women always wear makeup to make themselves look very nice on dates. Some props that could be used are chocolates, flowers, or money.Cross cuts are used oftenly also to show what couples are doing at different times and locations. , for example if one is at the pool while the other is cheating at someones house. The setting may be a restaurant, house, or a resort. some diegetic sounds that are used are knocking n the door. pitch blog

  Pitch 1

Man wakes up to the nd if the world

This would be a great movie because I have watched the Walking dead, and out team members have a good idea on what we could make for the short film. I have ideas for placed to shoot and what not. Some problems would be restrictions with people in the background.

Pitch 2

Friends laundering money for a cartel

This was our second idea, but the problem with this was that who were we gonna get to present out cartel. This idea comes staight from the hit show on Netflix Ozark. The pros would be that it would be easy to do, but it would quickly start to go down in quality. Quality over Quantity .

Which of these two were the one we chose

After we all discussed together as a group we decided.... We would go with our first pitch would be much better, because although it it may be a bit more difficult it could show how great we really are. We think that it would be much fun to see the Idea develop from out heads.

Critical Reflection

My product engages my audience by it being extremely relatable to many people no matter the race, color, ethnicity or gender everybo...
