 Common CAMS: These shots can vary depending on what the romance movie is about. Romance movies often use these depictive shots because they focus on intimate moments that are often portrayed on the face, eyes, and mouth.

·       Close-up shot

·       Pov shots

·       Over the shoulder shots

·       Eye-level shots

Example: Like in the notebook, the camera mainly uses a close up shot to show the emotions crossing the face of the couple and to emphasize the closeness and the impact of the words.

Common sound: Romance films typically use these types of sound to build suspense and gain attention during an intimate scene. All these factors contribute to making the scene appear so intimate. Many times, dialogue is important during the scenes as the words exchanged are devoted and meaningful.

*Non-diegetic music

*Incidental music

* Intense dialogue

Example: An example of this can be found in the movie a walk to remember or 10 things I hate about you, you'll notice that the most emotionally impactful scenes occur during intense dialogue.
